For Sale: 1965 AC Cobra in Huntington Station, New York for sale in Huntington Station, NY

1 of 27
Vehicle Description -Brewster Green with Black leather interior, Black carpeting and Black tonneau, windows and convertible top, Correct 427 Side Oiler engine, 4-speed Top Loader gearbox, 2,000 miles from new, 1 of 13 CSX1000's commissioned by Carroll Shelby featuring hand-built aluminum bodies crafted by AC Cars Ltd.
, just as the original had been.
1 of only 2 427 Street Cobra with underside exhaust of the 13! As Shelby American was moving forward with their continuation cars in the late 1990's both in fiberglass and aluminum he came to a point where he wanted to have bodies made in the UK as he did in the 60's.
AC delivered hand-formed aluminum bodies from the original wooden Cobra bucks.
These Cobra's were to be a special blend of English craftmanship blended with American horsepower, exactly as they has been originally.
This is the same successful formula that led to what is now a true American automotive legend.
The CSX1000 series was therefore Mr.
Shelby's first and only true recreation of the first AC bodies that left the UK destined for the install of the big black American Ford engine.
Once again, not only a recreation of the automobile, but also Mr.
Shelby reliving the moment in time.
This particular Street 427 Cobra was dispatched to Mike McCluskey's world renowned Shelby Restoration Shop in Southern CA for completion.
Having restored many of the original race and street cars, as well as being a personal friend and responsible for the maintenance and restoration of Mr.
Shelby's personal automobiles, no one would have been better suited for the job.
As stated, this is 1 of only 2 Street 427's with underside exhaust, no bonnet scoop, roll bar or side pipes and with custom made widened Sunburst wheels (as opposed to Halibrands, although a set of Halibrands is included with this 427) manufactured at cost of approximately $10,000/per wheel, these 427 Street Cobra's were known as the user friendly Cobra.
This is quite possibly the only 1 of the 13 to have a period correct cast iron engine block.
This 427 Street Cobra is documented in The Shelby Registry, verified by Gary Patterson CEO Shelby automobiles, documented by AC Cars Ltd.
, documented and signed by Mike McCluskey, previously owned by the famed Andrew's Collection (to replicate their original Brewster Green Street 427) and most recently one of my personal automobiles for several years.
An absolute joy to drive, always serviced as needed, where needed, it is ready for immediate use and enjoyment.
This Cobra is only for sale due to the purchase of a significant Aston Martin for the collection and I can't keep them all.
My hope is that this 427 Street Cobra will go to another loving and caring home where it will be cherished as it has by The Papadopoulos Family.
