The Quattroporte, meaning four door in Italian, was unveiled at the Turin motor show in 1963.
It was designed by Frua and constructed by Vignale.
The Quattroporte competed in the ultra-luxury saloon market against the Aston Martin Lagonda Rapide and the Facel Vega.
The elegant Quattroporte with its top speed of 143mph was easily the fastest four-door saloon of its era.
For the Series II launched in 1966, the Quattroporte added twin headlights and redesigned the interior, now with a full width wood facia and integrated climate control.
