Senior Accountant

Our client, an international whole sale and distribution company is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their growing accounting team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for multiple accounting functions including monthly close activities, preparing journal entries, maintaining the general ledger and establishing the company's practice and procedures as they continue to grow. Responsibilities:
Responsible for month end close for several HQ offices and reporting packages
Support financial transactions with record keeping and documentation.
Monthly intercompany billing
Analyzing complex financial reports and records
Making recommendations based on analysis and review of expenditures versus budget/updated forecasts
Take ownership of all accounts payable approvals and confirm these approvals are in line with approval matrix
Prepare standard journal entries and adjustment entries to support monthly close.
Variance analyses and performing account reconciliations
Prepare accruals, fix assets, pre-paid, accounts payable and intangible/tangible schedules and supporting calculations.
Prepare P&L; account analysis to support management reports.
Utilizing hands-on accounting experience and in-depth understanding of accounting principles and company practices to perform basic to complex accounting activities and financial analyses
Assisting with the preparation of schedules and documentation to support audits and tax preparation
Documenting and monitoring internal controls in support of SOX compliance.
Coordination of more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or other departments
General Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting
3-5 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably in advertising/media industry
Hands-on, self-starter, proactive and re-active as required
Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines
Detailed-oriented and organized

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
