## Description
Interpret and implement the Agency's philosophy, policies, routines, and procedures, which effect group living in a manner consistent with their intent.
Assist in the orientation of new residents to group living.
Support the childcare trainees in fulfilling the responsibilities of their positions, and assist with their on-the-job training.
Supervise the group along with and in the absence of the Childcare Supervisor.
Participate directly at treatment team meetings.
Complete and maintain resident's point sheets, shift report logs, and childcare notes.
Communicate problems or potential problems to the Childcare Supervisor and Social Workers. Complete informational and incident reports as needed.
Submit supplementary reports to the Childcare Supervisor upon request for Diagnostic, Pre-placement and progress meetings.
Supervise residents during activities within the community and on campus, in addition to normal daily routines
Accept responsibilities as assigned by the immediate Supervisor and/or Director.
Attend in-service training sessions, conferences, and/or workshops as required by the position and/or as authorized by the Supervisor and/or Director of Childcare.
Attend monthly staff meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Evening Shift Duties and
Responsibilities:
Supervise and assist residents in performing detailed cleaning of resident's room once weekly with special attention to blinds, baseboards, closets and drawers.
Assist new residents in marking their personal clothing and belongings and providing for proper storage.
Check residents living skills and socialization skills on a daily basis, awarding points as indicated on merit sheet and recording progress or regression in record.
Assist with recreation activities.
Assist in crisis intervention.
Participate in the Behavior Management Services.
Transport residents to appointments, community trips, and Therapeutic Leave as scheduled by Supervisor.

## Qualifications
High School Graduate
BA Degree preferred
Valid New York State Drivers License
Acceptable clearance checks for State Central Register, Driver license and fingerprinting as required by the program.
Compliance with health regulations for physical/mantoux testing.
This position requires successful completion of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training, which includes a written test and demonstration of the competency to perform physical restraints, as specified by the program and regulatory body. Additionally, staff must successfully complete all required TCI refreshers in order to maintain continued employment.
CPR Certification and annual competency.
